Terms and Conditions of Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Services
1.0 Adherence to Guidelines
All Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) procedures adhere to the guidelines set by the IET Code of Practice. Our technicians are fully trained and competent in all aspects of PAT testing to ensure accurate and reliable assessments of all items and equipment provided by the client.
2.0 Information and Preparation
To facilitate the testing process, we require floor plans and fire risk assessments, which should be available to our technicians upon arrival, facilitated by a competent or responsible individual appointed by the client. This individual must be present at the start and end of the testing to address any safety concerns or hazards identified during testing.
3.0 IT Equipment
Clients must ensure the protection or backup of any critical information or data before the commencement of PAT testing, particularly for main IT suites and server rooms. It is the responsibility of each individual user to shut down their respective IT equipment. Our technicians are not responsible for rebooting or starting up the equipment post-testing. Our equipment operates on batteries and poses no risk to IT equipment. We do not accept liability for items that pass testing but subsequently develop a fault.
4.0 Awkward Items
Our technicians can only test items that are within reach. Heavy, awkward, or inaccessible items will only be visually inspected. Items positioned at height must be removed before our technicians arrive. Ladders are not provided, and our technicians are not insured to use client ladders (this can be discussed at the time of booking).
5.0 Pricing
Our standard pricing for PAT Testing is £60.00 for up to 10 tests, 11-100 additional appliances tested at £1.50 each. [100 tests – £195]. Please be aware that rates are subject to factors like appointment time, location, date, and availability. Fixed rates are available for larger orders above 100 tests. Construction sites PAT testing is £100 up to 25 tests and additional appliances tested at £ 3.00 each.
6.0 Non-productive Testing
In cases where testing is delayed or cannot be completed due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to charge an hourly rate of £25.00 per technician. Providing floor plans can streamline the testing process.
7.0 Report and Certificate
After the test is completed, the invoice will be issued the same day to the client. Upon payment, clients receive a completed PAT Testing Report/Certificate in PDF via email. This includes a list of all tested items, their pass/fail status, and the next inspection date (one year from the test date).
8.0 Cancellation Charges
We require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling on any days. Failure to provide this notice will result in a cancellation charge of £40.00. Cancellations on the day of testing or at the site incur a charge of £60.00. Special considerations may apply at the discretion of senior management.
9.0 Payment Terms
Payment is due within 2 days of job completion. Payments can be made in cash or via BACS. Overdue payments are subject to admin fees based on the amount owed.
